Located next to Sugar Land Medical Center, this comprehensive
$8.6 million, 12,000-square-foot facility developed
by Hospital Corporation of American (HCA) and West
Houston Medical Center is the first outpatient radiation
center to be constructed in Fort Bend County.
The new Center, which opened in April, 2003, is capable
of treating more than 150 cancers, including adrenal,
bladder, brain, breast, colon, head and neck, kidney,
lung, rectal and renal cancers and also offers liver
metastasis programs. It also offers the latest advances
and information in prevention, screenings and education.
Karl W. King, M.D., is the medical director of the
Sugar Land Cancer Center. He is one of the few physicians
in the United States board certified in both Internal
Medicine and Radiation Oncology -- serves as medical
director of the Center.
He is licensed to practice in four states. Dr. King
received his doctor of medicine degree from Washington
University School of Medicine, which is ranked in
the top five in the United States.
