Karl King, M.D. is currently the medical director
of the Sugar Land Cancer Center.
Dr. King joined Western Radiation Oncology Associates
in early 1997 after serving four years at the Memorial
Regional Cancer Institute in South Bend, Indiana.
During that time, he was medical director of the Memorial
Hospital School of Radiation Therapy from 1994 to
1995. He was assistant radiation oncologist at the
Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University
School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri, from 1992
to 1993.
At Mallinckrodt, he completed his residency and fellowship
in radiation oncology between 1989 and 1993. Dr. King
earned his Medical Degree in 1985 from the Washington
University School of Medicine in St. Louis after obtaining
his Bachelor of Arts Degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Biology
from the same university in 1981.
After medical school, Dr. King served internships
and residencies in internal medicine before specializing
in radiation oncology. He is board certified in internal
medicine and radiation oncology. He is a member of
American College of Physicians (ACP), American Medical
Association (AMA), American Society of Clinical Oncology
(ASCO), and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology
and Oncology (ASTRO). He also belongs to the Association
of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO), Indiana
State Medical Association (ISMA), Radiologic Society
of North America (RSNA), Washington University Alumni
Association, and Texas Medical Association (TMA).
